The Experience Field Trip
All of the skills taught throughout this course will be applied during this final activity. We will carry overnight packs to our campsite and build our campsite in the snow. Once camp is setup, we will attempt a summit climb of Platinum Peak which typically involves climbing through snow and taking in the views from the summit.
Back at camp, students will have an opportunity to help build a camp kitchen in the snow and then prepare a hot meal and beverages.
In the morning, students will have an opportunity to summit another peak in the basin and mark off their first scramble towards graduation.
Additional information will be provided during the course.
