What Is Snow ONE?
Similar to Rock ONE, Snow ONE is an opportunity to learn new skills that will be applied in the field during Snow TWO.
Snow ONE introduces the fundamentals of self-arrest, with and without an ice ax. We will practice each of the four arrest positions that will need to be successfully demonstrated with an ice ax during Snow TWO.
We will also review the methods of safely traveling in the snow using an ice ax and proper glissading techniques.
Before the day is concluded, we will discuss proper clothing and layering to help prepare for Snow TWO.
